2020 Census Apportionment Counts

April 27, 2021. More than a year after the 2020 Census began, the U.S. Census Bureau released the first results from the once-in-decade enumeration. The release includes resident populations as of April 1, 2020 for the states and the nation, the overseas populations, and the apportionment results for the states.

From DBEDT’s highlights:

  • Hawaii’s resident population was 1,455,271 for April 1, 2020.
  • Hawaii had an average annual growth of 0.68% between April 1, 2010 and April 1, 2020.
  • The State’s population grew at its the slowest pace since being counted in the U.S. Census.
