Census

The U.S. Census Bureau released its 2024 state population estimates today. The latest estimates include the Vintage 2024 estimates for 2020 through 2024.

HAWAII HIGHLIGHTS

On July 1, 2023, the resident population for the State of Hawaii was 1,441,387.

On July 1, 2024, the resident population for the State of Hawaii was 1,446,146.

On average, between July 1, 2023, and July 1, 2024, the State of Hawaii’s population increased by 13 people a day.  There was a natural increase of 6 people per day, but, on average, 7 more people moved in to the State of Hawaii than moved out of the State of Hawaii per day, causing an overall increase.

There were:

• 40 births per day
• 34 deaths per day
• 33 more people moving to Hawaii from foreign countries than moving out of Hawaii to foreign countries
• 26 more people moving out of Hawaii to another state than moving to Hawaii from another state
