2019 State Population Estimates

Hawaii’s latest population estimates data is now available on our DBEDT website.
On July 1, 2018, the resident population for the State of Hawaii was 1,420,593.
On July 1, 2019, the resident population for the State of Hawaii was 1,415,872.
On average, between July 1, 2018 and July 1, 2019, the State of Hawaii’s population decreased 13 people a day. There was a natural increase of 11 people per day, but, on average, 24 more people moved out of the State of Hawaii than moved to the State of Hawaii per day.
There were:
- 46 births per day
- 35 deaths per day
- 14 more people moving to Hawaii from foreign countries than moving out of Hawaii to foreign countries.
- 38 more people moving out of Hawaii to another state than moving to Hawaii from another state.
